Tell us a bit about yourself.
Hi! I'm Joyce, an MD/PhD student in the Raychaudhuri Lab currently working on developing computational methods for single-cell RNA-seq. I grew up in Nashville, Tennessee, and double-majored in Computer Science and Biology at Stanford. My undergraduate honors thesis examined microbiome dynamics (poop!) in stem cell transplant patients using metagenomics. I’m very interested in functional genomics and its applications to understanding disease biology and treatment, especially autoimmune and/or digestive diseases. Outside of lab, I enjoy practicing yoga and exploring Boston’s ramen and hot pot scenes.
