What research experience did you have before grad school?
I worked as a computational biologist at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, NY, where I studied clonal hematopoiesis (clonal mutations in the blood) in 32,000 cancer patients profiled by prospective clinical sequencing.
What is your research area and why is it exciting?
I am currently studying the age-related accumulation of DNA damages across human tissues, a process that represents the common link between aging and cancer, as well as a variety of other human diseases.
Why did you choose BIG?
The caliber of science as well as life in the city!
